Wakeminster exists to glorify God, love one another, and serve our community.
Our Story
Wakeminster Baptist Church was organized in 1950 in what was a rural community outside of Raleigh, North Carolina. The organizers valued discipleship and worked to create a community gathering for the worship of God. Since that beginning in 1950, Wakeminster established meeting facilities in what is now North Raleigh. The community has changed from a local farming community to a suburban area filled with people from many areas who have made this part of Raleigh home. Wakeminster has sought to serve that community and is now seeking to do so with fresh vision and hope founded on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The desire of Wakeminster is to reach into this community and propel the life changing message of Christ’s redemption to a people who have yet to hear this beautiful news. The people of Wakeminster are passionate for the glory of God to be central in the actions and words of His church.
